**A Bali aerial photography helicopter flight is a short scenic run – usually 15 to 30 minutes – flown so your camera sits on the good side of the light over Kelingking, the Uluwatu cliffs and the south coast. Entry seats start around USD 130-160; private cabins for hero shots run higher, indicative and operator-dependent as of 2026.**
Halcyon Sky, operated by Bali Premium Trip, is a concierge and booking layer. We do not own helicopters, hold an Air Operator Certificate or employ pilots. Every flight here is flown by a licensed Indonesian AOC operator under its own certification and safety oversight. What we do is time your flight to the light, pick the seat that frames the shot, and reserve it end to end.
This page is for travellers and couples who want the pictures – the Kelingking flyover, the golden-hour coastline, the two-of-you frame with the ocean behind. If you need a working commercial shoot with a dedicated aerial cinematographer and a chartered aircraft, that is a separate charter conversation.
What does a Bali aerial photography flight actually cost?
Prices are published by the named operators and platforms below. They are indicative, dated as of 2026, and change with fuel, season and availability. Private cabins give you window control and a clear frame; shared seats are the cheapest way into the air.
| Flight & operator | Duration | Format | Indicative price | Best for photos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Balicopter “Uluwatu Coast” | 15 min | Shared seat | IDR 3,399,000 per seat | Cliff-and-surf coastline, quick hero shots |
| Balicopter “Uluwatu Coast” | 15 min | Private, up to 4 pax | IDR 10,499,000-13,600,000 per helicopter | Window control, couple frames |
| Inn2Travel “Uluwatu & Nusa Penida” | 20 min | 2 persons | USD 520 total (~USD 260 pp, inferred) | Cliffs, temples and coast in one run |
| FlyBali “Above the Island of Gods” | ~20 min | Private, up to 4 pax | from IDR 13,999,000 per helicopter | Mixed south-Bali landmarks |
| Balicopter “Nusa Penida Sky Escape” | ~30 min | Private helicopter | IDR 30,000,000 per helicopter | Manta Point, Kelingking / T-Rex Cliff, Devil’s Tears |
| FlyBali “Nusa Penida Sky Escape” | ~30 min | Private, up to 4 pax | from IDR 34,499,000 per helicopter | Full Nusa Penida landmark set |
For the widest frames, curated guides go higher still. Finns Beach Club’s “5 Very Best Helicopter Tours Bali” lists a Bali-Lombok scenic flight passing the Gili Islands and the Nusa Islands (Lembongan, Penida, Ceningan) from USD 3,333 per flight, and a 20-25 minute flight over Bali for six people at around USD 1,240 per flight. As a planning band, treat entry scenic seats at ~USD 130-160 and premium multi-landmark or private charters at USD 800-3,000+.
Which route gives the best photographs?
The subject decides the seat, and the light decides the hour. A few honest pointers:
- Kelingking / T-Rex Cliff (Nusa Penida): the iconic dinosaur-head headland. The Balicopter and FlyBali “Nusa Penida Sky Escape” routes cross it along with Manta Point and Devil’s Tears – the strongest single frame in the region.
- Uluwatu Coast and Temple, Melasti Beach, GWK: limestone cliffs meeting turquoise water. Klook’s “Helicopter Ride Experience by Bali Heli” and the Balicopter “Uluwatu Coast” run cover this southern coastline of cliffs, white sand and reef.
- Golden hour: late afternoon light rakes across the cliffs and kills the harsh midday glare. Shot count per landmark is limited, so we sequence the route so your best subject arrives when the sun is low.
Seat, private cabin, or doors-off?
Three set-ups, three very different photo outcomes:
- Shared seat (cheapest). You are placed by the operator; you may be on the inland side for part of the run. Good for a first flight and casual shots.
- Private cabin (up to 4 pax). You control which window faces the subject and can leave the seat beside you empty for elbow room. This is the standard choice for couples chasing clean frames.
- Doors-off (request only). Removes window glare and reflections entirely. It is not offered on every aircraft or route and is fully operator-dependent – we confirm availability, weight and safety briefing with the AOC operator before promising anything. We never guarantee it.
A published scenic seat like the Balicopter “Uluwatu Coast” also includes a photo with the pilot and aircraft, complimentary beverages and heliport lounge access – useful for the on-the-ground portraits before you lift off.
Can I add a photographer?
Yes – as an optional add-on we arrange through vetted partners, not an in-house crew. For most couples the private-cabin-plus-window-seat set-up delivers the hero shots on a phone or mirrorless camera. If you want someone else holding the camera so you are both in frame, tell us at quote stage and we price it against the operator and route. This scenic add-on is distinct from a full commercial aerial-cinematography charter, which is booked separately.
How booking works
- Message the concierge. WhatsApp 6281128590000 with your dates, group size and the shot you want – Kelingking, the Uluwatu coast, or a couple frame.
- We match route, seat and light. We propose an operator, format (shared or private), duration and the hour that puts the sun where your camera needs it.
- We confirm with the AOC operator. Availability, weight, any doors-off or photographer add-on, and the current indicative price.
- You approve and reserve. We hold the seat or cabin and send heliport details.
- Weather check on the day. Flights are subject to weather and operator clearance – we never guarantee schedule and will rebook rather than fly in poor conditions.
Heliport corridors sit in South Bali – Air Bali on Jl. Raya Pelabuhan Benoa (Denpasar Selatan), Fly Bali Heli / Bali Heli on Jl. Pantai Melasti (Ungasan), Balicopter on Jl. Raya Nusa Dua Selatan (Sawangan), and Bali Helitour at the GWK Parking B area.
Ready to lock in your shot?
Tell us the frame you are after and we will build the flight around it – route, seat, light and any add-ons. Prices and routes above are indicative, dated as of 2026, and confirmed against the operating AOC partner before you pay.
WhatsApp the Bali Premium Trip concierge: 6281128590000 (or sales@balipremiumtrip.com). One message, and we start timing your flight to the light.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best time of day for a Bali aerial photography helicopter flight?
Late afternoon, into golden hour. Low, raking light removes the harsh midday glare off the water and gives the Uluwatu cliffs and Kelingking their depth. Morning flights can be clearer of cloud but flatter in tone. We sequence the route so your priority subject arrives while the sun is low, subject to operator scheduling and weather.
Can I open the doors or shoot doors-off for clearer photos?
Sometimes – it is a request-only, operator-dependent option, not a standard on every aircraft or route. Doors-off removes window glare completely but adds weight, briefing and safety requirements set by the licensed AOC operator. We check availability and confirm before promising it. Where it is not offered, a private-cabin window seat still gives clean, glare-managed frames.
Do I get better photos on a shared seat or a private helicopter?
A private cabin, almost always. On a shared seat the operator places you, so you may face the inland side during part of the run. A private helicopter (up to 4 passengers) lets you control which window faces Kelingking or the coastline and leave a seat empty for room to shoot. Private cabins start higher – indicative, as of 2026.
Which route gets the Kelingking Beach shot?
The Nusa Penida escapes. Balicopter’s “Nusa Penida Sky Escape” (IDR 30,000,000 per helicopter) and FlyBali’s version (from IDR 34,499,000 per helicopter, up to 4 pax) both route over Manta Point, T-Rex Cliff / Kelingking and Devil’s Tears – the strongest aerial frame in the region. Shorter Uluwatu-coast runs stay over South Bali and do not reach Nusa Penida.
